The Poppy has become the symbol for Remembrance Day. FIFA told the English FA that the Three Lions were not allowed to wear the poppy on their shirts (as has been the case in the Football League) for their friendly match against Spain this weekend. Since then, the two sides have been looking to come up with an agreement that would make both parties happy. The team will instead wear black armbands that bear the poppy but some of the squad members are looking to take it a little further with their boots.
Theo Walcott, Gabby Agbonlahor, and Ashley Cole are three of the players that Nike has customized boots for and you can expect some more members of the squad to follow through with their version of the Poppy Appeal.
