New York Giants cornerback Xavier McKinney spoke for all of Giants Nation when he sounded off on the recent trade that sent star tight end Darren Waller to New York.
In a recent post on his Instagram story, McKinney reshared a photo breaking the news of the trade, adding in the caption “Ok let’s go!”.
Many believe that the Giant’s front office made an incredible move with this deal. Despite some injury concerns, Waller is still one of the league’s top tight ends. With the team recently giving young quarterback Daniel Jones a contract extension, it was essential that they began to surround him with weapons, and this is exactly what they did with this move.
This was a very small asking price for such a talented veteran weapon, the Giants were only forced to give up a third-round pick that they acquired in the trade that sent Kadarius Toney to the Kansas City Chiefs.
Waller will be a player to keep an eye on this season, and it is clear that his Giants’ teammates are more than happy to have him join the roster.
