The New England Patriots have recently signed offensive tackle Riley Reiff to a contract to join the team.
The details of the contract have yet to be released, however, he will be a big help in protecting quarterback Mac Jones this season. Initially, the Patriots had their sights set on Andre Dillard, however, that window quickly closed once he signed a three-year $29 million deal with the Tennessee Titans.
Although Reiff was not New England’s first choice, he is still an incredible player and will bring a solid veteran presence to the locker room.
He is an 11-year player and has bounced around positions throughout his career. He began as a tight end and tackle in 2012 with the Detroit Lions in his rookie season, before making the switch to full-time lineman for the remainder of his career in 2013.
Throughout his time in the league, he has played for the Lions, Minnesota Vikings, Cincinnati Bengals, and spent last season with the Chicago Bears. It appears this will be another active free agency period for the Patriots following the multiple splashes they made last season.
