The Detroit Lions have been one of the most active teams this year in free agency, and show no signs of stopping anytime soon. They recently brought back wide receiver Marvin Jones Jr. on a one-year $3 million deal that can rise to $5 million if he hits all of his incentives in the season.
Jones spent the past two seasons with the Jacksonville Jaguars, however, with the team bulking up its wide receiver room with the addition of Calvin Ridley, Jones Jr. was left as the odd man out. During his stint with the Jaguars, he caught 201 passes for 1361 yards and 7 touchdowns.
As previously mentioned, Jones Jr. has already spent some time with the Lions. In fact, he has played half of his NFL career in Detroit. In those five seasons, he accumulated 289 catches for 4296 yards and 36 touchdowns. It is clear that the Lions are ready to make a major push for the playoffs after a very promising season from quarterback Jared Goff. Along with this, the NFC North is the weakest it has been in years, with Aaron Rodgers on his way out of the division and likely on his way to the New York Jets.
