UFC Predictions for Brandon Moreno vs. Alexandre Pantoja
On Saturday night in the co-main event of UFC 290, Brandon Moreno will defend his flyweight championship title against Alexandre Pantoja in a rematch. Moreno will aim to avenge his loss to Pantoja in their previous professional encounter in 2018, as well as in an exhibition match during The Ultimate Fighter in 2016.
Pantoja has won four out of his last five fights, and in his upcoming match against Moreno, he aims to beat him for the second time and become the new flyweight champion in his first attempt. Moreno, on the other hand, hopes to get a win and defend his title. The question remains: Will Moreno succeed in defending his title, or will Pantoja become the latest Brazilian champion in the UFC?
Which flyweight fighter will win the UFC match-up between Brandon Moreno and Alexandre Pantoja? Several well-known MMA fighters have weighed in with their predictions. Check out who they are rooting for at UFC 290.
Many fighters are picking Moreno to win, even though he has lost twice to Pantoja before. This is because Moreno has been improving a lot in the past couple of years and has had a good career overall. Also, Moreno is four years younger than Pantoja, which could be an advantage. Here are some UFC predictions from other fighters.
UFC bantamweight contender Rob Font:
“Gotta go, Moreno, gotta go with the champ.”
UFC bantamweight Cody Stamann:
“Moreno is a tough guy to beat right now. He gets better every fight; I see him in the gym, and I know how hard he works. … I think Brandon Moreno is the guy right now. I don’t really see anybody beating him.
UFC bantamweight Brian Kelleher:
“I’m going to lean towards Moreno. I don’t know if there’ll be a finish in that fight — I think maybe more towards a decision.”
UFC welterweight Neil Magny:
“Moreno just finds a way… He gets it done. I don’t see this fight playing out any different for him. … He’ll show people why he’s the flyweight champion. … I definitely think Moreno gets the job done.”
UFC heavyweight Chris Daukaus:
“Moreno. He’s right there, he’s one of the best No. 1, No. 2 behind Volk.”
UFC welterweight Alex Morono:
“Moreno, man, he’s always fun to watch. He’s still young and getting better. … Pantoja is good, but I think he’s a little bit older.”
Although most fighters are predicting Moreno to win, some are taking Pantoja’s two victories over him into consideration. Therefore, a few fighters, such as Brandon Royval, are supporting Pantoja to defeat Moreno again and become his weakness. Whether Pantoja will be able to break through Moreno’s momentum remains to be seen. Only time will tell who walks out of the cage with the flyweight title. With these fighters’ predictions in mind, all that is left to do is get ready for a thrilling bout. Tune in to UFC Saturday to see what happens when Brandon Moreno and Alexandre Pantoja step into the octagon. Who will prevail? The countdown to this fight is on!
