The NBA calendar is currently in a quiet period, but Draymond Green made a lot of noise this week.
Green addressed the incident where he punched his former teammate Jordan Poole before the beginning of the 2023-24 season on his podcast. This explanation was used by a parody Twitter account to make fun of Green. They posted fake criticism from Kevin Garnett about him.
The star player of the Warriors initially responded as if the quote was genuine, but later found out that it was not real.
“I tried you when I was a rookie KG and you started talking to yourself like I wasn’t talking to you,” Green said in a since-deleted tweet. “What’s that like? The freshman picking on a senior citizen that’s double his size?”
Garnett ultimately clarified things to the other forward with whom he was exchanging trash-talk.
“That’s a fake tweet,” the Basketball Hall of Famer tweeted at Green. “@elonmusk see wtf is happening. Fix it.”
According to Kevin Durant, NBA players need to be cautious when using social media, especially after the Garnett-Green incident. However, fans of basketball may disagree because the ongoing drama is what makes the league so entertaining.
